My husband and children are wonderful. I got gifts, breakfast, a manny and peddy! But most of all, I got the love.
Mother's day (to me) isn't about what my kids or husband got me! It's about the appreciation that they show me, that I might not see or notice everyday!
Mother's day also gives me an insight to the "why me" moments. When my daughter has to change her clothes 5 times and makes me late for work (WHY ME?), or when my son doesn't do his homework and has me up to 1am, at wal*mart buying posterboard and markers (WHY ME?) or when my husband forgets to do something and then when i say something about it, its because i didn't remind him (WHY ME?)
WHY ME? Because I love both of my babies! I love the back pain I had when I was carrying them, the marks they left me with, the headaches they give me when they don't listen or when I get the calls from school. I would not take them back for anything in the world! And my husband! He is one loving, sweet, caring, strong man! I don't know too many people that can put up with what he does and STAYS! I am so lucky! Lucky to have all of them in my life! And it takes a day, a day that makes us all slow down and think about what the other has done for us, to remember this!
Happy Mother's Day!
